2020 Vision

The year 2020 has been declared the year of vision. This is because of the notion that having 20/20 eyesight does reflect perfect or natural ability to see.

Vision is defined as the faculty or state of being able to see. It is the ability to think about or plan the future with imagination and wisdom, creativity, and inventiveness.

Vision is important. Without it, you don't know where you're going, which can leave one subject to being tossed to and fro. Vision provides us with an anchor and direction—a sense of purpose to get out of the bed in the morning.

Corporations and companies write vision statements, which act as a road map, indicating what the company wants to become by setting a defined direction for the company's growth.

VISION STATEMENTS

Vision statements are written by considering the following:

  1.  Projections give to ten years into the future.

  2. Determining the purpose and position.

  3. Describe what success looks like within the operation.

  4. Considering the structure.

  5. Describes measurable goals.

For example, company Apple has the sole mission and vision, stated by Tim Cook, specifically to "make great products". Their mission is "to bring the best user experience to its customers through its innovative hardware, software, and services".

If you own an Apple product, then I'm sure you can attest that they are living up to the vision and mission of their company.

How to Find Your Vision

Often, we believe that every single dream, desire, and idea that we conceive is what we are to accomplish. We hear things like, "visualize what you want" and "manifest your reality". However, a true vision comes from God.

Proverbs 37:4 says, "Delight yourself in the LORD, and He shall give you the desires of your heart."

As believers, our purpose, mission, vision, and ability to execute them comes from God. When we delight in Him by trusting Him, reading His Word, spending time in His presence, resisting worry and fear, we begin to hear Him clearly and find the strength and grace to do what He instructs.

Through the Holy Spirit, we have been given 7 spiritual gifts that operate in the lives of disciples. Those functions are:

  1. Wisdom

  2. Understanding

  3. Counsel

  4. Fortitude (Might)

  5. Knowledge

  6. Devotion

  7. Fear of the Lord

 (Isaiah 11:2-3)

We do not lack the resources, direction, or connection on how to obtain that vision that we need because we have our instructions from our CEO. However, our revelation of it requires us to go directly to Him (the Lord) in prayer to have a "team meeting" to discuss, develop, and get the strategy for which we need for the vision we are intended to carry out.

If not, we run the risk of being visionless. The opposite of vision is to be blind.

What is blindness?

To be spiritually blind is not to see Christ, and not to see Christ is not to see God. It is a grievous condition experienced by those who do not believe in God, Christ, and His Word.

I challenge you to ask God to renew your vision and mission on this earth. Lay aside the vision that you conceived to listen to Heaven's instructions. You are alive and in this generation for such a time as this. Stir yourself in the Lord and shake this earth with the heartbeat of Heaven.

Matthew 6:10 - May your Kingdom come soon. May your will be done on earth, as it is in Heaven.
